Guidelines on the Acceptance of Pleas: joint letter from Directors and Criminal Bar

The Directors of the RCPO, the CPS and the SFO, together with the Chairman of the Criminal Bar Association, have written a joint letter to prosecutors, expressing concerns about the implementation of the Attorney General's Guidelines on the Acceptance of Pleas.

The Director RCPO has issued guidance on the use of Disclosure Notices under Part 2 Chapter 1 of the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act 2005. The guidance outlines the legislation and provides details as to the circumstances in which the power will be used.

Independent from, but working closely with, Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs, the RCPO offers professional, expert legal advice from an early stages of an investigation, building strong and effective prosecutions cases to present before the courts.
