David Green QC

David Green, QC, is a lawyer with over 25 years experience at the criminal Bar. He joined the Customs and Excise Prosecutions Office as Director in December 2004 and became the RCPO’s first Director on its creation in April 2005.

Before being called to the Bar in 1979 David worked in the Defence Intelligence Staff, Whitehall. Since then he has been in private practice at the criminal bar, undertaking both prosecutions and defence work.

In 1996 he was appointed Recorder and took silk in 2000.

My top priority will be the establishment of a genuinely independent prosecuting authority that is trusted, fair and accountable. I am determined that the RCPO will play a full and active role in the Criminal Justice System, working with all our counterparts to deliver high quality advice and casework.'
